Flagler County is located in northeast Florida along the Atlantic Coast. Named for Henry Morrison Flagler (builder of the Florida East Coast Railway) and officially created on April 28, 1917, Flagler County now contains 485 square miles of land area and 86 square miles of water surface. The county seat is Bunnell.
Interstate 95 and US Highway 1 both traverse Flagler County north/south. The A1A Scenic & Historic Byway finds its southern terminus in Flagler County.
