An aerial view of Everglades City
Everglades City is located at the mouth of the Barron River on Chokoloskee Bay. It is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the barrier island chain that comprises the northern end of Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge. At one time, Everglades City was the county seat of Collier County. The Gulf Coast entrance to Everglades National Park is still in Everglades City.
